Human Resources Manager

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and education

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To:Chief Executive Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

    The Human Resources Manager is the right hand person to the Chief Executive Officer and the management team. S/he provides leadership in building a strong employee culture and morale built on the Company’s mission, core values, diversity, equity and inclusion. This is a hands on role, where the individual uses creativity and resourcefulness to complement their strong, working knowledge in the area of human capital, including: diversity, equity and inclusion, total rewards, payroll, employee relations, workforce planning, talent & leadership development, policy implementation, general HR administration in order to accomplish the multiple demands of a growing organization.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      Recruitment, Onboarding and Training

      • Manages recruiting efforts that align with the Company’s human capital needs and diversity, equity & inclusion
      • Supports their HR Team and is the back up to: Recruit, interview, and select employees with Hiring Managers to fill vacant positions; Prepare offer letters and New Hire Information; Conduct Background Checks on potential candidates
      • Manages and coordinates an effective New Hire Orientation and other employee training in partnership with the Training Manager Also, where necessary: Plans and conducts new employee orientation and other employee training to foster positive attitude toward company goals

      HR Analysis and Information Management

      • Leads HR system implementations, as the main contact and project manager in partnership with leadership
      • Ensures that information presented by various areas of the company is current
      • Manages and maintains the HR system; accurately enters new hire critical information, i.e., salary, title, location, reporting manager, changes to benefits, salary, etc.
      • Maintains integrity of recordkeeping for all employees
      • Ensures that audit trail reports are prepared and maintained
      • Reviews payroll changes as processed by external company
      • Runs data verification, queries and reports on demand

      Employee Relations

      • Ability to establish relationships with all levels of an organization, while gaining and maintaining credibility
      • Handles employee relations matters, including performance improvement plan development, investigations and exit interviews
      • Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety human resources areas
      • Proactively anticipates opportunities or issues of the business and develops innovative solutions to address the opportunities.

      Legal Compliance and Policy Development

      • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to affect continual improvement in efficiency of department and service performed
      • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
      • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
      • Assists with legal matters and filings

      Performance and Rewards Management

      • Partners with CEO to develop and maintain the performance management and employee development process
      • Research and build compensation structures pertinent to role and department of employees
      • Manages benefit plans and annual open enrollment process for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, etc. for employees

      Other

      • Management of Administrative team and HR Duties per Company needs

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business-related field with 5-8 years of progressive experience performing professional level human resources duties. SHRM/HRCI Certification is preferred.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

      • Strong Organizational, resourcefulness, project management and communication skills are necessary.
      • Former generalist with solid experience with managing and HR administration.
      • Federal and State employment compliance laws; i.e. HIPAA, FSLA, FMLA, COBRA, Workers Compensation
      • Strong experience in recruiting for non-exempt and exempt level, managing simple and complex employee relations issues.
      • Self-starter, highly motivated, and innovative
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing and growing environment
      • Experienced user of payroll and HRIS systems
      • Fosters an environment that upholds company core values.
      • Proficient using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
      • Maintains a working knowledge of company products and services
